Somalia is still in need for help and intervention, your support is still a lifeline for many mothers and children surviving on little every day. The iFundraise campaign is solely launched to fundraise and raise awareness about Somalia’s ongoing crisis. You can contribute in any shape or form that you prefer. One of our suggestion is that you put your running kit on setup a justgiving page here and say it loud and proud #iRun for Somalia. Many have already done and it would be great to see you do it too!

Hailing from a place forgotten by many and unknown by even more; I wonder what it will take to revitalize my people. Unity, cohesion and mobility are the tools we need to rejuvenate and restore faith to the voiceless.

Somalia has been afflicted with the plight of civil war and unrest for the past 21 years. In fact it’s been in this state since my birth, thus having nothing but negative images of my motherland. Once a beautiful and vibrant land visited as a holiday destination by the masses from all over the world; now we see a destitute Somali ridden with poverty and famine.

A complete polar image of the Somalia my parents wanted me to inherit. It really upsets me that 21 years have passed however rather than the state improving it has on the contrary deteriorated. Despite many Statebbuilding and Peacebuilding, missions Somalia remains the world’s longest running instance of complete state collapse in postcolonial history.

In 2012, whoever thought we’d be in the middle of the worlds worst famine since Ethiopia. It saddens me to the core that I cant physically make a difference however through the power of expression we can all join together to highlight the plight of these voiceless people who hold onto so much hope.

Please join me in making blog entries to show solidarity and support to the forgotten nation of Somalia.
